OVERVIEW
GoodMorning.com is one of the most popular Canadian mattress companies. The company’s sleep accessory line includes an adjustable bed, a wood frame, a mattress protector, and a memory foam pillow.
Seven distinct models make up GoodMorning.com’s mattress line. Its hybrid models include the Brunswick, the Logan & Cove, and the Apollo. All-foam options include the Juno, the Douglas, the Recore, and the Novosbed.
The Novosbed is the company’s flagship model, and it is one of GoodMorning.com’s more expensive mattress options. This model is available within both the United States and Canada. It consists of two layers of memory foam on top of a polyfoam core. Three distinct firmness options are available, so sleepers from different weight groups and those with different feel preferences may be able to select a Novosbed Mattress that more closely meets their needs.
We’ll cover the Novosbed Mattress in-depth, delving into its construction, sizing, pricing, performance, and company policies. We’ll also compare the different firmness options to give you a better idea of what feel might be best for your body type and performance preferences.
Ideal For:
- Sleepers with sharp pressure points
- People who tend to wake up when their partner moves during the night
- Individuals with different body types
- Those who like the hug of memory foam
Considerations:
- While each firmness option excels for some weight groups, none of the firmness options are ideal for all weight groups
- Some couples may prefer a more responsive surface for sex
- The edge may not be supportive enough for those who frequently sit or sleep near it
Mattress Performance
Soft: 4/5, Medium: 4/5, Firm: 3/5
As is common with all-foam models, the Novosbed absorbs a significant amount of motion. This means that it isolates most vibrations rather than transferring them across the surface of the mattress, which can promote a more restful night’s sleep for people who share their bed with a partner.
The Novosbed Mattress gets its motion isolation primarily from its comfort and transition layers. Both of these layers use memory foam, which typically prevents the spread of motion.
While soft mattress models usually perform better in motion isolation tests, all three firmness options for the Novosbed excel in this category.
Soft: 4/5, Medium: 4/5, Firm: 3/5
Memory foam mattresses usually relieve pressure well, and the Novosbed Mattress is no exception. It has a comfort layer and a transition layer of memory foam, both of which mold to the shape of the sleeper’s body to spread their weight out more evenly and limit pressure buildup from key areas like the hips and shoulders.
All of the Novosbed firmness options can provide excellent pressure relief for some sleepers, but the level of pressure relief will depend largely on the sleeper’s weight. Individuals who weigh under 60 kilograms will likely get the most pressure relief from the Soft option, those who weigh between 130 and 105 kilograms may prefer either the Medium or Firm version, and those who weigh over 105 kilograms are likely to find the Firm option most comfortable.
We’ll explain how position and weight may affect the sleep experience in more depth in the section below.
Soft: 2/5, Medium, Firm: 3/5
The Novosbed uses memory foam in both its comfort and transition layers. Memory foam hugs closely to a sleeper’s body, earning it a reputation for also trapping heat. However, the Novosbed Mattress has better temperature regulation than some memory foam models on the market thanks to its unique materials and construction.
Next-generation memory foam in the Novosbed’s comfort layer allows more air circulation than most standard memory foam, allowing heat to dissipate away from the sleep surface. The Tencel cover feels cool to the touch and helps transfer moisture away from the sleeper’s body.
Because sleepers can sink in more deeply, the Soft version of the Novosbed Mattress may be somewhat more prone to heat retention than the Medium and Firm options.
Soft: 2/5, Medium: 2/5, Firm: 3/5
All-foam models like the Novosbed typically do not have reinforced edges. This means that when you sit or sleep close to the perimeter of the bed, the foam will compress along the edge and potentially feel unstable. Some individuals fear if they sleep near the edge they might accidentally roll off, which can limit how much of the mattress surface they ultimately use.
The Novosbed’s edges are moderately supportive, which is in line with most all-foam models. Some individuals may not feel secure enough to sit or sleep near the perimeter of the bed.
Soft: 2/5, Medium, Firm: 3/5
The Novosbed Mattress uses two layers of memory foam, which conform closely to the sleeper’s body and tend to be slower to respond to changes in pressure than polyfoam. This combination of hug and slower response times may restrict movement to an extent, but the Novosbed is still on par with other all-foam models when it comes to ease of movement.
Because sleepers can sink in more deeply, the Soft version of the mattress receives lower ease of movement scores than the Medium and the Firm. This may make it more difficult to change positions or move around on the bed. The Medium and Firm options perform better. Most individuals shouldn’t feel “trapped in the bed” or struggle to change positions.
Soft: 2/5, Medium, Firm: 3/5
Since many couples prefer a responsive mattress for sex, all-foam models typically don’t earn high marks in this performance category.
Compared to similarly constructed beds, the Novosbed is moderately conducive to sex. Its memory foam comfort and transition layers shape to the body, which can add traction. Without a coil system, the Novosbed is virtually silent, making it discreet. However, the lack of a coil system also means that it does not have the bounce that many couples enjoy.
The Soft version of the Novosbed earns lower marks for sex because it may restrict movement to an extent, while the Medium and Firm options tend to perform better thanks to their balance of conforming and ease of movement.
Off-gassing is typically a result of odors that remain from manufacturing, so any new product may have some off-gassing smells. This is especially likely when a mattress contains synthetic foams and ships compressed, like the Novosbed Mattress. While the Novosobed may have some initial odors, they may not be as noticeable or long-lasting as similarly constructed models thanks to its breathable cover and comfort layer.
For most owners, off-gassing odors aren’t a huge cause for concern. However, if you’re sensitive to smells, you may prefer to air out your new mattress in a separate, well-ventilated room before introducing it into your bedroom. Most odors should dissipate within two days.

Sleeping Style and Body Weight
Novosbed – Firm
Novosbed – Medium
Novosbed – Soft
Side Sleepers:
Side sleepers usually have the sharpest pressure points of any of the sleep positions. This occurs because the hips and shoulders tend to be wider than the rest of the body, putting more force on the mattress. To reduce pressure buildup, side sleepers typically need a mattress that contours to their curves to redistribute their body weight. The Novosbed uses memory foam in its comfort and transition layers, giving a close hug that can provide notable pressure relief for side sleepers.
Which firmness feel is best for a side sleeper will depend largely on their weight. Those who weigh less than 60 kilograms are likely to enjoy superior contouring and pressure relief from the Soft option. Side sleepers who weigh between 60 and 105 kilograms should sink in about the right amount for pressure relief and support on the Medium version. Individuals who weigh over 105 kilograms may be better served by the Firm option since it is likely to balance contouring and support for most individuals in this weight group.
When a side sleeper rests on a mattress that is too soft for them, their hips and shoulders could sag too deeply into the bed, putting the spine out of alignment. If the mattress is too firm, they may experience more pressure buildup around their hips and shoulders.
Back Sleepers:
The main concern for most back sleepers is getting the support they need to maintain their natural spinal alignment. However, they frequently prefer a mattress with enough give to let their hips sink in just a bit. The Novosbed’s memory foam comfort layer gently cradles a back sleeper’s hips. Its memory foam transition layer gives deeper contouring while limiting sinkage.
Back sleepers who weigh less than 60 kilograms may prefer the Soft option of the Novosbed for a bit more cushioning and cradling. The Medium version can accommodate back sleepers from all weight groups, so it might appeal to couples. The Firm version will likely give the best support for back sleepers who weigh more than 60 kilograms.
Selecting the right firmness can help a back sleeper better maintain their spinal alignment. A mattress that is too firm for the sleeper’s body type may not allow their hips to sink in much, so their alignment may not be ideal. If the mattress is too soft, a back sleeper’s hips may sink in too deeply and put a strain on their lumbar area.
Stomach Sleepers:
Stomach sleeping typically causes the most back and neck strain of any sleep position, but a properly supportive mattress can help limit discomfort. The middle of the body usually carries much of the body’s weight. When you lie on your stomach, this weight can pull your midsection into the mattress and put the spine out of alignment. Stomach sleepers often need a firmer, more supportive mattress to prevent this. The Novosbed’s memory foam comfort and transition layers contour and cushion while limiting sinkage, making it a good option for stomach sleepers.
Most stomach sleepers will likely prefer the Firm version of the Novosbed. This firmness option cushions the sleeper without much sagging, so those who weigh more than 60 kilograms should get the support they need for good spinal alignment. Stomach sleepers who weigh under 60 kilograms may prefer the plusher feel of the Soft version of the Novosbed, and it’s likely to be supportive enough for most individuals in this weight group.
If a stomach sleeper’s mattress is too soft for them, they may experience spinal strain caused by their hips and belly pulling their midsection down into the mattress. A mattress that is too firm may feel hard against the front of a stomach sleeper’s body, and it may not relieve as much pressure as they’d like.
Novosbed Mattress Review Breakdown
The Novosbed Mattress comes in three firmness options, which the company labels as “Soft,” “Medium,” and “Firm.” Coming in around a 4 on the 10-point firmness scale, the Soft option could be described as medium soft. The Medium version rates around 6, giving it a medium firm feel. Rating at a 7, the Firm Novosbed Mattress is truly firm.
Each Novosbed Mattress consists of three layers of foam. The comfort layer is next-generation memory foam. Like standard memory foam, it conforms to the body to redistribute the sleeper’s weight and reduce pressure buildup. However, it is engineered for greater breathability than most memory foam to keep the sleep surface cooler. A memory foam transition layer separates the comfort layer from the support core while contouring more deeply to the sleeper’s curves. The polyfoam core adds to the bed’s support and durability.
The Novosbed Mattress is encased in a soft-to-the-touch, stretchy knit Tencel top cover. This material is breathable and moisture-wicking to promote a cool, dry sleep surface. The top cover can also be unzipped and washed in a machine for easy cleaning. A two-way stretch elastic cover gives an extra layer of protection to the foam core. Furniture-grade upholstery siding adds durability and support.

Trial, Warranty, and Shipping Policies
The Novosbed Mattress ships to destinations in the United States and Canada. It's sold exclusively through the Novosbed website.
The Novosbed Mattress ships free within most of the contiguous United States and Canada. Shipping charges may apply for deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii, and remote locations.
Most mattresses are made after an order is placed. Production usually takes 1-5 business days for orders in Canada and 5-12 business days within the United States. Delays may occur during busy times, and Novosbed will contact you if these delays will affect your order.
The Novosbed Mattress is typically delivered to the customer’s door. From there, the customer moves the compressed, boxed mattress into their room of choice, puts the box on its side, slides out the compressed mattress, and carefully opens the plastic wrapping. They can then place their mattress on the bed frame and finish carefully removing the plastic and unrolling the mattress. Customers are instructed to keep this plastic in case of return.
Owners can typically lie on their new mattress after 5 minutes. Full expansion may take up to two days.
White Glove delivery and old mattress removal are not currently available with the Novosbed Mattress.
The Novosbed Mattress comes with a 120-night sleep trial. If the firmness doesn't seem ideal to you after 30 nights, Novosbed will send you a free Comfort+ kit to adjust the feel. If you've tried the mattress for at least 60 nights and it's still not the right bed for you, you can return it for a full refund of the purchase price. The company will help arrange to remove the mattress from your home. Returned mattresses are typically donated or disposed of.
The Novosbed Mattress is protected by a 15-year limited warranty. With in-home use, this warranty covers indentations over 1 inch for the first 10 years of the warranty period and indentations over 2 inches for the remaining 5 years. Physical flaws that cause the foam to split or crack and manufacturing defects in the zipper or cover fabrics are also covered during the first 10 years.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from using an improper foundation or more than one comfort layer. It also does not protect against damage from abuse, misuse, or failure to follow care and handling guidelines. The warranty policy only applies to the original mattress owner. They must retain a copy of their receipt, and the law tags must remain attached to the mattress.
Qualifying defects will render a mattress eligible for repair or replacement at the discretion of Novosbed. GoodMorning.com will cover shipping and handling charges for valid warranty claims from most destinations. During the first 10 years of the warranty period, owners using the Novosbed for non-commercial and non-institutional purposes will receive repairs and replacements at no cost. For the remainder of the warranty period, repairs and replacements will be charged at a rate of 75% of the original mattress cost.
