Sweet Zzz is a mattress and bedding manufacturer that uses materials with environmental certifications for greater sustainability. The California-based retailer started in 2013 and currently offers a range of accessories, including sheets, pillows, weighted blankets, and mattress protectors. The company makes one mattress model, the Honey Hybrid, a latex hybrid sold in four firmness levels.
Our team put this to the test in our sleep lab. We examined its materials and construction thoroughly to assess its quality and durability. We also reviewed the Honey Hybrid Mattress’ performance by putting it through a series of rigorous assessments.

How the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid Scored
Motion Isolation6.0/10
Motion isolation is limited for the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid. All designs feature a thick layer of responsive Dunlop latex over a bed of steel coils, so there’s quite a lot of bounce on the surface in response to your movements. This can lead to sleep disruptions if you share your bed with a partner.
Our tests show the medium (5) Honey Hybrid provides the best motion isolation, but people who are easily awakened by movement should consider a different mattress altogether.
Pressure Relief7.0/10
The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid does not conform very closely, even with the softer medium (5) and medium soft (6) designs. This helps your body remain on an even plane, but also means you won’t get that hug from the comfort system cradles your most sensitive areas.
People who weigh more than 230 pounds are less likely than their lighter counterparts to experience pressure buildup on this mattress. Our tests show this is especially true for back and stomach sleepers.
Temperature Control
Temperature regulation is one of the Honey Hybrid’s standout strengths. The latex is ventilated to promote airflow near the surface, while circulation through the coils helps the mattress maintain a comfortable interior temperature. A breathable organic cotton cover and moisture-wicking wool fire barrier add to the cool, comfortable design.
While the firm (7) and extra firm (8) Honey Hybrid models had a slight edge for temperature control over the softer models, all four performed exceptionally well during this phase of our performance tests.
Edge Support8.5/10
Like a lot of other latex hybrids we’ve tested, the Honey Hybrid performed well during our edge support tests. Thick coils along the perimeter push back against your weight when you lie close to the edges of the mattress or get in and out of bed. This can be especially helpful for people with limited mobility.
Not surprisingly, the two firmest versions of the Honey Hybrid earned the best scores for edge support.
Ease of Movement
The Honey Hybrid is supportive, sturdy, and responsive. These qualities add up to a bouncy surface that’s fairly easy to navigate for most people regardless of body weight. Unlike beds with foam layers, this model never hinders movement or makes you feel like you’re stuck in the comfort system. All four of the Honey Hybrid’s designs performed exceptionally well in this category.
Durability
After evaluating the Honey Hybrid inside and out, we project this mattress will perform for 8 to 9 years before it needs to be replaced. This is on par with the average latex hybrid in terms of expected lifespan.

Side Sleepers
Our hands-on testing shows side sleepers tend to prefer softer, more adaptive mattresses that provide extra cushioning for the shoulders and hips. This is why most side sleepers on our team awarded the highest ratings to the medium (5) and medium firm (6) Honey Hybrid. Both designs feel responsive to movement, but still conform to the body for a cushy, cradling effect.
Side sleepers over 230 pounds were the exception, as many of these testers preferred the firm (7) and extra firm (8) models. The more you weigh, the deeper you’re likely to sink into a mattress, so people who weigh more than 230 pounds typically need a more robust support system.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers tend to need more support than side sleepers because their shoulders and hips don’t push too deeply into the mattress. A flat, even surface is needed to keep their head, neck, and back in alignment. For this reason, back sleepers on our testing team weighing up to 230 pounds mostly preferred the medium firm and firm Honey Hybrid models. Back sleepers also appreciated the robustness of the extra firm (8) design.
A small number of back sleepers under 130 pounds gave positive ratings to the medium and medium firm designs, but these models were too soft for the most part.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers often appreciate latex hybrids for their sturdy support systems and strong surface bounce. This proved to be the case with stomach sleepers on our team testing the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid. Most of our stomach sleepers weighing up to 230 pounds liked the medium firm and firm designs, while the extra firm model earned a lot of support from stomach sleepers over 230 pounds.
Stomach sleepers tend to experience more aches and pains than side and back sleepers, especially in their neck, shoulders, and lower back. This is because people carry more weight at the front of their midsection, and gravity can pull your body downward into a mattress when you sleep face-down. This is why stomach sleepers generally prefer firmer, more responsive mattresses that won’t sink too much.

You can purchase Sweet Zzz mattresses directly from the manufacturer’s website. Sweet Zzz does not currently have brick-and-mortar stores, and the Honey Hybrid is not available through third-party retailers.
Shipping
Shipping is available to all 50 states and Canada. Those in the contiguous U.S. receive free shipping, while shoppers in Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada incur additional fees. Mattresses typically ship within three to five business days of purchase and arrive within seven business days of shipping.
The mattress arrives compressed in plastic, rolled, and encased in a box. You’ll need to move it to your room of choice and unpack it. Make sure you have a partner to help you carry the mattress and place it on your bed frame.

Sweet Zzz doesn’t currently offer additional services, such as White Glove delivery or old mattress removal.
Sleep Trial
The Honey Hybrid Mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial with a 30-night break-in period. The trial begins when your mattress arrives. After trying the mattress for 30 nights, customers can return it for a full refund of the purchase price.
Households are eligible for one return. The mattress must have been removed from the box within 21 days and remain in donatable condition to qualify.
Warranty
Sweet Zzz backs the mattress with a limited lifetime warranty that covers visible sagging and indentations greater than 1.5 inches. The warranty doesn’t cover your mattress if you use a bed base with slats more than 5 inches apart. The warranty also does not extend to mattress abuse, misuse, or normal wear and tear.
