This is a hybrid mattress, which means it combines metal coils with layers of foam. The coils provide the underlying support layer, while three unique layers of foam improve comfort and responsiveness. Keep in mind that this design is one-sided, so it cannot be flipped over like traditional mattresses. To extend its lifespan, you can rotate the mattress every six months – but it should not be flipped.
The Beautyrest Hybrid uses a thick layer of pocketed coils as its main support layer. Pocketed coils are metal springs that are individually wrapped in fabric.
