Testing Team Takeaways
To test the Brooklyn Bedding Copperflex Mattress, we had three people on our testing team each take the bed home with them for one week. Here are their initial observations.

Given its price-point, I was surprised by how well-built and comfortable the CopperFlex was. I also appreciated the great motion isolation on the all-foam models.

For side sleepers like me, the CopperFlex has a lot to offer, especially when shopping on a budget. The memory foam layer kept pressure to a minimum around my hips and shoulders.

I liked the design of the CopperFlex and CopperFlex Pro, but there were some notable differences between the all-foam and hybrid versions. Shoppers should look closely at which type is more aligned with their preferences.
Sleeping Style and Body Weight
Side Sleepers
Our testing process found that the CopperFlex Mattresses are a great fit for side sleepers who weigh 130 pounds or more.
These mattresses provide gentle cushioning that side sleepers need to ease pressure around their shoulders and hips. Because the CopperFlex beds are medium firm (6) and contain a zoned transitional layer, they prevent deep sinkage into the mattress that can hinder spinal alignment.
In our testing, side sleepers over 230 pounds tended to prefer the hybrid models, which gives a touch of extra sturdiness from the thick coils. Most of the side sleepers on our team who weigh under 130 pounds felt that the CopperFlex Mattresses were a bit too firm for optimal comfort.
Back Sleepers
In our testing, the highest scores for the CopperFlex came from back sleepers under 130 pounds, but those between 130 and 230 pounds also received adequate support. Almost all of our back sleepers over 230 pounds felt that the mattresses lacked ideal firmness.
Back sleepers need the right balance of cushioning for the lower back as well as firm support to keep the spine aligned. The CopperFlex achieved this balance for many back sleepers by combining light contouring with a medium firm (6) feel. For those up to 230 pounds, the mattress prevented the midsection from sinking too deeply into the mattress.
Stomach Sleepers
We found that the CopperFlex and CopperFlex Pro are best for stomach sleepers under 130 pounds. Although some stomach sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds liked the mattress, most testers of 130 pounds or more said that it wasn’t firm enough for their needs.
A key issue for stomach sleepers is keeping their body in an even plane, which requires a firmer mattress surface. Because people with a lower body weight don’t sink into the mattress as much, the CopperFlex was more supportive for stomach sleepers under 130 pounds. The hybrid CopperFlex Pro was especially popular because of its combination of stability, light cushioning, bounce, and zoned lumbar support.
Performance Ratings
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Brooklyn Bedding Copperflex Mattress Review Breakdown
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Mattress is 12 inches tall, and the CopperFlex Pro Mattress is 14 inches tall. Both are medium firm, or a 6 on our 1-10 firmness scale with 10 being the firmest.
The CopperFlex Mattress comes in all-foam and hybrid models. In both designs, the cover is made with soft quilted fabric with parallel lines of horizontal stitching.
There is 1 inch of adaptive polyfoam quilted into the cover, and beneath that is 2 inches of CopperFlex memory foam. The memory foam is infused with tiny copper particles meant to make the mattress antimicrobial and more breathable. Under the memory foam is .75 inches of cushioning polyfoam. These layers allow the mattress to lightly cradle the body, easing tension around joints and pressure points.
In the memory foam model, the remaining layers include 3 inches of transition polyfoam, .75 inches of zoned foam for extra lumbar support, and a base of 5 inches of high-density polyfoam.
In the hybrid model, there’s a .75-inch layer of zoned polyfoam, 8 inches of pocketed innerspring coils, and a .25-inch fabric base. The coils give the hybrid a bouncier feel and are reinforced around the edges for extra perimeter support.

The comfort system of the CopperFlex Pro includes 1.5 inches of polyfoam quilted in the cover, 2 inches of CopperFlex polyfoam, and .75 inches of comfort foam.
In the all-foam Pro model, the next layers include 2 inches of transition polyfoam, .75 inches of zoned polyfoam, and a sturdy support core made of 7 inches of dense polyfoam.
In the hybrid Pro model, there is a 1-inch layer of transition foam, the same .75-inch zoned foam layer, an 8-inch layer of pocketed coils, and then a vibration-absorbing .75-inch base layer of high-density polyfoam.

FAQs
Is Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex a good mattress?
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid scored well overall in our tests, and it especially excelled at relieving pressure and isolating motion. Its medium firm feel makes it a great choice for side sleepers over 130 pounds and back sleepers under 230 pounds.
How long does a Brooklyn Bedding mattress last?
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid should last about 7 to 8 years, which is above-average compared to other beds. The coils that make up its support core should hold up well, even with heavy use. However, the foam in its comfort layers may deteriorate over time, which can lead to sagging or permanent body impressions. Because of this tendency, the all-foam model of the mattress may need to be replaced a year or two earlier.
Which Brooklyn Bedding mattress is best for side sleepers?
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid and the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe both scored high with our side sleeping testers across all body types. In general, side sleepers need a mattress that offers an even balance of comfort and support, with contouring at pressure points to support spinal alignment. Finding this will partly depend on your body type and personal preferences, so we recommend considering those factors before purchasing, too.
