Launched in 2018 with a focus on hybrid models, DreamCloud has since added bed frames, bedding, and all-foam mattresses to its product line. While the DreamCloud Premier Mattress is the company’s most popular hybrid model, the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress is an all-foam version with more cushioning than its hybrid counterpart. Both have a medium firm (6) feel, but the Premier Memory Foam Mattress uses more memory foam in its comfort system and features a polyfoam core in place of coils.

The DreamCloud Mattress is the company’s flagship hybrid model, while the Premier Rest Mattress is its luxury option. Both also come in all-foam options. Each of these models has a medium firm feel, except for the hybrid version of the Premier Rest Mattress, which is medium (5).

The DreamCloud Mattress and the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress are among the brand’s more affordable models. The Premier and the Premier Memory Foam Mattress are in the mid-range tier, while the Premier Rest and the Premier Rest Memory Foam Mattress carry the highest price tags.

We put the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress through a series of objective and subjective tests to see how it performed for a variety of sleepers. We’ll break down how this bed compares to similarly constructed models and who it might be best for.

Side Sleepers

The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress has a surface quilted with polyfoam and memory foam that cushions and molds to a side sleeper’s body. Additional layers of memory foam and polyfoam allow the hips and shoulders to sink in for very good pressure relief.

Because of its medium firm feel, the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress was most popular with our side sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. These testers experienced an ideal balance of contouring and support that minimized pressure buildup while supporting the spine. Those under 130 pounds received less cradling and noticed some pressure buildup around their hips and shoulders. Testers over 230 pounds reported average performance and noted that the mattress didn’t fully support their spine.

Back Sleepers

This DreamCloud model is well suited to many back sleepers, particularly those weighing between 130 and 230 pounds. The multiple memory foam and polyfoam layers cradle the hips without excessive sagging, while the high-density polyfoam core ensures proper support.

Our testing team’s back sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds sank deeply enough into the medium firm surface to experience good pressure relief with adequate lumbar support. Those weighing less than 130 pounds didn’t sink in as much and experienced less cradling and more pressure buildup. Those over 230 pounds enjoyed a deeper hug but reported uncomfortable sinkage, which negatively affected their posture.

Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleeping typically calls for exceptional support. The Premier Memory Foam Mattress’ high-density polyfoam base offers solid pushback, while the memory foam and polyfoam comfort system cushions the body to minimize pressure points without letting the midsection sink too much.

The bed lacks the sturdy support needed by many stomach sleepers, although some testers under 130 pounds found the medium firm feel sufficient for stomach sleeping. Those over 130 pounds sank in a bit more and said they prefer a slightly firmer feel for more consistent support.

Mattress Performance

In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.

Motion Isolation

8/10

Like many of the best memory foam mattresses, the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress offers standout motion isolation. Two layers of memory foam absorb the majority of vibrations, preventing them from transferring to the other side of the bed. Team members reported feeling very little movement when a testing partner moved on the other side of the bed or when we dropped a kettlebell next to them.

We also used a specialized device to measure vibrations our testers may have missed. The device detected slightly more movement than our testers, but we suspect most sleepers will notice little to no motion transfer unless they are light sleepers and have a very active sleep partner.

Pressure Relief

8/10

Due to the exceptional contouring of its memory foam layers, the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress excels at pressure relief.

A top layer of memory foam is quilted into the cover, providing the immediate hugging sensation that many sleepers associate with the material. The cover is also quilted with a layer of firmer polyfoam, which reduces the chance of excessive sinkage.

Testers between 130 and 230 pounds gave the bed the highest marks in this category, since the medium firm feel offered just the right amount of cradling without uncomfortable sinkage. In our pressure-mapping tests, we also noticed that each tester’s weight was evenly distributed across the mattress surface, which helps limit pressure-induced aches and pains.

Temperature Control

6/10

Foam absorbs heat and molds closely to the body, which can limit air circulation and lead to heat buildup on a mattress surface. The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress is prone to heat retention due to its all-foam design, but it does incorporate materials designed to counteract overheating.

Gel infusions in both of the memory foam layers and the polyfoam transition layer are engineered to transfer heat away from a sleeper’s body, allowing the mattress surface to stay somewhat cooler. Additionally, the bed features several layers of polyfoam, which traps slightly less heat than memory foam.

Our surface temperature readings detected moderate heat retention, and our sleep testers reported similar findings. While some body warmth lingers on the surface when a sleeper moves, many people may not find the heat retention bothersome. That said, sleepers who are sensitive to heat buildup may prefer a mattress with stronger cooling properties.

Edge Support

6.5/10

Compared to other all-foam models we’ve tested, the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress has decent edge support. Most foam models on the market lack a reinforced perimeter, and this mattress is no exception. However, the medium firm feel is more supportive than some competing foam designs, and the firmer polyfoam layers help limit perimeter sinkage.

Our team members found they could sit and lie along the edges without feeling like they might slip off the bed. Those over 230 pounds didn’t feel as secure as lighter testers, but we expect most sleepers will be able to comfortably use the full mattress surface.

Ease of Movement

6.5/10

The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress is easier to move around on than the average foam model. While the memory foam hugs your body and restricts some movement, the two polyfoam comfort layers provide enough firmness to facilitate position changes.

Testers over 230 pounds felt their movement was somewhat impeded because they sank in more deeply, but nobody reported feeling significantly restricted. We expect most sleepers will be satisfied with the overall ease of movement, though active sleepers over 230 pounds may find it more challenging.

Off-Gassing

6.5/10

Because the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress contains foam and is compressed and wrapped for shipment, it is likely to have an initial off-gassing odor.

The manufacturing of foam produces volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which don’t have an opportunity to air out when a mattress ships compressed. Unpacking the mattress in your home releases the VOCs, which is usually accompanied by an odor. If you’re sensitive to smells, you may want to allow time for the odor to dissipate before sleeping on the mattress.

Our testers reported a minor smell when they unpacked the mattress, but it almost entirely dissipated after 72 hours.

DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress Review Breakdown

The DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam Mattress is a medium firm all-foam bed. It measures 13 inches thick, making it a high-profile model that may require deep pocket sheets.

The cover is composed of a cashmere blend fabric that’s soft and breathable. Two layers of foam are quilted into the cover. The top layer is 1.2 inches of gel-infused memory foam designed to mold to the body while dispersing heat. It’s followed by a half-inch polyfoam layer.

A 1.5-inch memory foam layer precedes a 1.5-inch polyfoam transition layer that helps promote spinal alignment by distributing weight evenly across the surface. Both of these layers are infused with cooling gel engineered to transfer heat away from the sleeper’s body.

The mattress core uses 9 inches of high-density polyfoam to provide sturdy support for the comfort layers. The sides of the bed are encased in a tufted fabric designed to stabilize the core, with four built-in handles for easier transport and setup.

The warranty also covers physical flaws that result in the foam cracking, splitting, or degrading, as well as manufacturing defects in the mattress cover’s assembly. This policy applies to the original owner and does not cover damage related to abuse or misuse.

During the first 10 years, DreamCloud will replace the mattress for free if it is defective. After 10 years, DreamCloud has the option to repair or replace the mattress at its discretion.
