Helix Luxe Mattress Review

Founded in 2015, Helix produces more than a dozen mattress models that target specific sleeping needs. The lineup includes a core line of models for different sleep positions and body types along with the Helix Kids and the Helix Plus. In addition to mattresses, Helix sells bases, sheets, weighted blankets, pillows, and mattress protectors.
The Helix Luxe Mattress Collection is an upgraded version of the core mattress line. It includes six hybrid models with varying firmness levels to suit a wide range of sleepers. The Sunset Luxe, Midnight Luxe, and Twilight Luxe are designed with side sleepers in mind, while the Moonlight Luxe, Dusk Luxe, and Dawn Luxe are meant for back and stomach sleepers. Visitors to Helix Sleep’s website can complete an online sleep quiz to help them determine which Helix model is best for them. The quiz uses body type, weight, height, and other factors to point you toward your most suitable options.
We’ll take a close look at the Helix Luxe line, splitting our review into two sections that examine the side sleeper models as well as the back and stomach sleeper options. We’ll highlight the construction, value, materials, and results of our in-house performance testing. We’ll also help you determine which Helix Luxe model is best for your needs and preferences.

Helix Luxe Video Review
Although our team has personally tested each Helix Luxe mattress, we’ve released a video review for one of the Luxe models: the Midnight Luxe. Check out the video below to see how the Midnight Luxe performed during hands-on tests in our lab.
Below, we’ll break down performance ratings for each Helix Luxe mattress based on our comprehensive testing criteria. The star ratings reflect our general findings with the Luxe series as a whole, but may not be indicative of each model. We’ll cover which models performed better than others in the detailed ratings descriptions.

Side Sleepers
Each Helix Luxe model is designed with certain types of sleepers. The Midnight Luxe, Sunset Luxe, and Twilight Luxe were created with side sleepers in mind. Each of these models contains one to two memory foam layers that contour closely to cushion the shoulders and hips, promote even spinal alignment, and alleviate pressure points that often occur when sleeping in this position.
Findings from our tests were consistent with Helix recommendations. The Sunset Luxe was the most popular option among side sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds, the Midnight Luxe earned its most favorable ratings from side sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds, and the Twilight Luxe provided adequate support for side sleepers over 230 pounds.
The side sleepers on our team also felt comfortable on other Luxe models. In particular, side sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds received ample cushioning from the Moonlight Luxe, and those weighing 130 to 230 pounds felt very comfortable on the Dusk Luxe.
Back Sleepers
Generally speaking, back sleepers need a mattress that cushions the body and alleviates pressure while maintaining an even sleep surface with limited sinkage around the middle. Since all six Luxe models feature extra coil reinforcement for the midsection, we found the best Luxe option for any given back sleeper depends on two factors: the firmness level of the mattress and the sleeper’s weight.
The Dawn Luxe, Dusk Luxe, and Moonlight Luxe are all designed for back sleepers. During our tests, back sleepers on our team who weigh less than 130 pounds received the most cushioning from the Moonlight Luxe. This model was too soft for our back sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds, who preferred the Dusk Luxe and Dawn Luxe instead. The latter also offered adequate support and the right amount of cushioning for most of our back sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds.
The back sleepers on our team weighing less than 130 pounds also found the Sunset Luxe comfortable, but awarded higher ratings to the Midnight Luxe. Those who weigh 130 pounds or more received sufficient support from the Twilight Luxe.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers often have a harder time finding a comfortable mattress compared to side or back sleepers. This is because stomach sleeping is associated with more aches and pains. Sleeping face-down causes your entire body to sink into the mattress, and the uneven support can cause soreness – especially in the neck and lower back.
The Dawn Luxe, Dusk Luxe, and Moonlight Luxe were specifically designed for stomach sleepers. However, the latter felt too soft for the bulk of stomach sleepers on our team. Those weighing less than 130 pounds preferred the Dusk Luxe, while our stomach sleepers of at least 130 pounds were much more comfortable on the Dawn Luxe.
Our stomach sleepers also had positive things to say about some of the Luxe models designed for side sleepers. Namely, the Midnight Luxe was popular among stomach sleepers under 130 pounds, while the Twilight Luxe delivered the support needed for stomach sleepers weighing 130 pounds or more.
Mattress Construction
Every mattress in the Helix Luxe collection shares a similar design, but there are a few minor differences from model to model. Detailed specs for each Luxe mattress are displayed below.

Mattress Prices and Sizing
The Helix Luxe line is available in six standard sizes ranging from twin to California king. Each size option is 14 inches thick, meaning you may have to purchase deep pocket sheets.
Pricewise, these models are on par with other luxury hybrids. Helix Luxe mattresses are a decent value, especially when considering their high-quality materials, above-average durability, and 15-year warranty. Opting for the GlacioTex Cooling Cover increases the mattress’ overall price-point, though not considerably.
The Luxe models are priced proportionally higher than the core Helix line because of their upgraded designs. Customers willing to forgo the zoned support system, four-sided perimeter reinforcement, and Tencel pillow-top can save by choosing a standard Helix mattress model.
Please note that all Helix models share the same price-point in each size.

Trial, Warranty, and Shipping Policies
Helix ships mattresses directly to customers in the U.S. and Canada. You can purchase Helix mattresses through the company’s website or at select partner showrooms.
Helix ships its products to all 50 states and the Canadian provinces. You can expect your mattress to arrive within one to four weeks of placing your order. Each mattress ships via FedEx. Shipping within the U.S. is free. Shipping fees and customs taxes apply for Canadian orders.
The mattress arrives compressed, sealed in plastic, and packaged in a box measuring 47 inches by 16 inches by 16 inches. You may need a partner to help move the mattress into your room of choice. To set it up, slide the sealed mattress out of the box, lay it on your foundation, carefully cut the plastic wrapping, and let the mattress expand for two hours.
Helix does not offer White Glove delivery, and old mattress removal is not widely available. However, to comply with state laws, Helix offers old mattress removal for free to customers in California.
Helix offers shoppers a 100-night sleep trial that starts when the mattress arrives at your home. After an initial 30-night break-in period, you can return your mattress for a full refund of the purchase price. Helix arranges pickup with a local removal partner, then recycles or donates the mattress if possible.
If you like your mattress but would prefer a slightly softer or firmer feel, you can also contact Helix during the trial period for a free topper to fine-tune the firmness.
Each Helix Luxe Mattress carries a 15-year limited warranty. This policy covers indentations greater than 1 inch, splits, cracks, and defects in the cover assembly. The warranty extends to the original purchaser who bought the mattress from an authorized retailer. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by abuse. Removing the cover or using improper support voids the warranty.
The owner is responsible for transportation charges associated with repairs or replacements. If Helix confirms a qualifying defect, it will reimburse up to $100 in shipping costs and elect to either repair or replace the mattress. Owners may be asked to provide their receipt as proof of purchase.
