Available in all-foam and hybrid designs, the SweetNight CoolNest Mattress also comes in three firmness and profile options The 12-inch thick models are medium firm (6), the 14-inch versions are medium (5), and the 16-inch designs are medium soft (4). This effectively creates six distinct options to choose from, so there’s something to fit the needs and preferences of most sleepers.
We tested the SweetNight CoolNest Mattress extensively in our in-house lab to see how it performed in terms of pressure relief, temperature control, and other qualities that matter most to sleepers. How the SweetNight CoolNest Scored
Motion Isolation8.0/10
Motion isolation is one of the SweetNight CoolNest’s biggest strengths. The memory foam and polyfoam layers absorb most movements and prevent motion from transferring across the surface.
While the hybrid version’s coils add some bounce, they move independently of each other. The 14- and 16-inch designs have more foam padding in their comfort systems, so motion isolation is even stronger with these models.
We did detect some motion transfer on the 12-inch hybrid due to its thinner design and coil support core, but most sleepers are unlikely to notice much, if any, movement from their partner.
Brad Nehring, Product Testing Manager: Our motion sensors showed that most versions of the SweetNight CoolNest minimize vibrations across the surface. I barely felt anything when my testing partner moved around on the other side of the bed.
Pressure Relief8.5/10
Each version of the SweetNight CoolNest offers pressure relief ranging from notable to truly exceptional. This can be attributed to the thick comfort system stacked with memory foam and polyfoam layers. These materials contour and cushion the body to evenly distribute the sleeper’s weight and alleviate sore spots.
The SweetNight CoolNest Memory Foam’s all-foam construction gives it an edge over the hybrid model, but the 14- and 16-inch versions of both the all-foam and hybrid options offer the deep contouring and consistent pressure relief that many side sleepers look for in a mattress.

Temperature Control7.5/10
We noticed some mild heat retention during our in-house testing, but neither the all-foam nor hybrid version of the SweetNight CoolNest trapped enough heat to make our testers feel uncomfortable. Both performed similarly in this area, though the thinner, firmer options had an edge because they don’t conform as closely to the sleeper’s body.
Each version of the SweetNight CoolNest incorporates features for cooling. While the constructions vary, both incorporate a cover designed for airflow, foam infused with phase change material, and gel-infused memory foam engineered to wick away heat.
Mary Fenton, Head of Product Content: Some body warmth lingered on the SweetNight CoolNest’s surface when I changed positions, but it didn’t trap heat the way I often see from mattresses with memory foam comfort layers.
Edge Support6.5/10
Because of the generous foam comfort system, our testing team observed mild to moderate sinkage when they sat or lied close to the perimeter of the SweetNight CoolNest. This is a common drawback of mattresses that conform closely.
For sleepers who frequently sleep along the edge of their mattress, the SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid may be a better option than the SweetNight CoolNest Memory Foam. Its coil core is reinforced along the perimeter for a sturdier feel, which is even more pronounced in the thinner, firmer versions.
Brad Nehring, Product Testing Manager: While I didn’t feel like I might slip off the edge of the bed, I did notice some compression along the perimeter. I’d still be comfortable using the full surface.
Ease of Movement7.0/10
Despite the hug of memory foam, our testing team found firmer versions of the SweetNight CoolNest easy to move on. Softer models sank deeper and hindered movement to a more noticeable extent.
For combination sleepers and others who want to move around unimpeded, the firmer, thinner versions of the SweetNight CoolNest are the best bet. Sleepers don’t sink in quite as deeply on these models, so they will be less likely to feel trapped in the bed.

Based on our materials analysis of the SweetNight CoolNest and our team’s experiences with similarly constructed mattresses, we expect this model to perform for 6 to 7 years before it needs to be replaced. This projected lifespan applies to all-foam and hybrid designs, and is on par with industry averages for these mattress types. The thicker a bed’s profile, the more likely its materials are to break down quickly, so the 12-inch CoolNest will probably outlast its thicker counterparts.

Side Sleepers
The SweetNight CoolNest’s deep contouring is a good match for most side sleepers. By molding to the shape of the sleeper’s body, the memory foam effectively transfers pressure away from heavier areas like the hips and shoulders to reduce discomfort while promoting spinal alignment. Zoned support in the base layer enhances this effect.
Most versions of the SweetNight CoolNest are likely to be comfortable for side sleepers. However, as a general rule, the softer, higher profile models tend to let side sleepers under 130 pounds sink in at a more optimal level. In contrast, sleepers who weigh 130 pounds or more often favor the more balanced feel of the lower-profile, firmer options.
Back Sleepers
For back sleepers, the SweetNight CoolNest’s zoned support and close-conforming comfort layers can make it easier to maintain good posture throughout the night by cradling the lower back without letting the hips sag too much.
The thinner, firmer versions of the SweetNight CoolNest are particularly well suited to this sleep position due to their more supportive feel. That said, back sleepers under 130 pounds are likely to get the support they need from any profile of either the all-foam or the hybrid option.
Stomach Sleepers
Our testing team members under 130 pounds got sufficient support from most versions of the SweetNight CoolNest when lying on their stomachs, but the firmer, thinner options received the best ratings from testers who primarily use the stomach position. The zoned support around the midsection of the mattress helped testers under 130 pounds maintain good posture, while the conforming of the memory foam softened the surface.
Stomach sleepers on our team weighing 130 pounds or more noticed that their midsections sunk in a bit too far, particularly on the plusher models, putting some stress on their lumbar regions.

Availability
The SweetNight CoolNest Mattress is available for purchase in the contiguous U.S. It is sold through the SweetNight website and several third-party retailers.
Shipping
Mattresses purchased through the SweetNight website ship for free within the contiguous U.S.
Most mattresses arrive within 2 to 6 business days and are delivered via FedEx.
The new mattress arrives encased in a box. To set it up, enlist the help of another adult to move the package into the bedroom before carefully unboxing it and removing the plastic. The mattress may take up to 72 hours to fully expand.
Additional Services
Currently, SweetNight does not offer White Glove delivery.
For additional fees, shoppers can have their mattress ship via UPS instead of FedEx or purchase protection in case the shipment is delayed, defective, or lost.
Sleep Trial
The SweetNight CoolNest Mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial, during which mattresses may be returned for a refund. SweetNight asks that you try the mattress for at least 30 days before initiating a return.
Mattress packages returned unopened are also eligible for a full refund during the first 30 days. Used mattresses qualify for a partial refund within the return period.
Warranty
SweetNight offers a 10-year limited warranty for its mattresses. The policy covers permanent dents and breaks that occur despite proper use and care. It also covers dirt or holes present upon arrival, sizing errors, and failure to expand to an acceptable range.
This policy applies to the original owner who purchased the mattress from SweetNight or an authorized distributor. Shipping fees may apply.
