$500 off Beyosa mattresses + 20% off bases and bedding

The Beyosa Hybrid Mattress features a unique construction that allows sleepers to choose between three levels of firmness for each side of the mattress. If the firmness level you choose doesn’t suit your needs, Beyosa also allows you to swap out the mattress’ removable support core. This means that couples can pick a different firmness level for their side of the mattress, which is especially beneficial for couples who have varying firmness preferences.

The Beyosa Hybrid is available in Plush, which rates as a soft (3) on our 10-point scale of firmness, as well as a Medium (5) model, and a Firm (7) model. Beyosa only offers the Hybrid Mattress, though the company also sells a flagship adjustable pillow, several types of bedding, and multiple bed bases designed to work with the Beyosa Hybrid Mattress.
We’ll explain how it performed during temperature, motion isolation, and pressure relief trials. We’ll also provide detailed information on each firmness option, so that you can pick the best mattress for your body weight and preferred sleep position.

  • Choose Plush if… you weigh under 130 pounds or you prefer a mattress with a truly soft feel.
  • Choose Medium if… you’re a back sleeper under 130 pounds or need a model with plenty of motion isolation and pressure relief.
  • Choose Firm if… you weigh more than 130 pounds and enjoy a responsive mattress that provides strong edge support.

Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

Plush/Medium: 4 / 5

Firm: 3 / 5

Our testing team found the Beyosa Hybrid Mattress effectively isolated motion. The foam comfort system absorbs movement while the support core’s individually wrapped coils help prevent motion from transferring from one end of the mattress to the other.

This means you should be able to move or change sleeping positions without disturbing your sleeping partner.

Our testers noticed that the Plush and Medium options isolated motion better than those on the Firm model.

Pressure Relief

Plush/Medium: 4 / 5

Firm: 3 / 5

Our testers enjoyed Beyosa Hybrid’s pressure-relieving capabilities. The foam comfort system adapts to the body’s shape and cushions pressure points without allowing too much sinkage.

Compared to other hybrid mattresses, the Beyosa Hybrid provides average to above-average pressure relief. This is due to the combination of contouring comfort layers and pocketed coil support core that respond to the weight of each sleeper.

During testing, the Plush and Medium models were particularly effective at keeping pressure from building up at sensitive areas like the shoulders and hips.

The support core on the Firm model may not allow enough compression for the deep contouring that some sleepers prefer. However, our testers still reported that the Firm model provided good pressure relief.

Temperature Control

Plush: 2 / 3

Firm/Medium: 3 / 5

Although the Beyosa Hybrid’s temperature control varies slightly by model, all three options feature a pocketed coil support core that helps promote air circulation. In the uppermost comfort layer, Beyosa adds a cooling gel intended to further reduce heat retention.

Our team found the Medium and Firm models to be more successful than the Plush model at controlling temperature, as firmer models tend to allow more airflow around the body and trap less heat compared to softer models.

Edge Support

Plush: 1 / 5

Medium: 2 / 5

Firm: 4 / 5

During testing, each model performed quite differently in the edge support category. All three versions have reinforced edges consisting of dense foam that’s intended to bolster the support core and increase support around the perimeter of the mattress.

We found this feature to be quite effective in the Firm model. The foam perimeter and pocketed coil support core work together to provide excellent edge support that’s strong enough to support sleepers who sleep near the edge of the mattress or who have a difficult time getting in and out of bed.

The Plush and Medium models, however, didn’t deliver the same level of edge support. The foam along the perimeters compressed along with the support core when pressure was applied directly to the mattress’ edge. Our testers noticed significant sagging when they sat on the edges of both the Plush and Medium models.

Ease of Movement

Plush: 1 / 5

Medium: 2 / 5

Firm: 4 / 5

When testing ease of movement on the Beyosa Hybrid, our team reported significant differences between the three models.

Those looking for a bed that’s responsive with plenty of pushback should choose the Firm model. The pocketed coils in the support core were bouncy enough to allow for easy movement. Our testers found it easy to shift sleeping positions on this model and didn’t feel as if they were sinking into the bed.

When testing the Plush and Medium models, our testing team noted that they felt like they were sleeping in rather than on the bed. The foam comfort system combined with the thinner pocketed coils in the support core didn’t provide enough pushback to allow our testers to move freely. Their movements were particularly inhibited while using the Plush model.

Sex

Plush: 1 / 5

Medium: 2 / 5

Firm: 3 / 5

A mattress that works well for sex offers a blend of edge support and responsiveness. Couples seeking an option that’s good for sex may find that the Firm model is better suited to their needs, as it has stronger edge support and better ease of movement than the other versions.

The Plush and Medium options may be too soft at the edges to allow couples full use of the bed’s surface. Couples might also find these models too difficult or awkward to move on, especially if their chosen level of firmness is different on each side of the bed.

Off-Gassing

The Beyosa Hybrid has a dual-layer foam comfort system as well as a foam perimeter reinforcement. As a result, sleepers may notice some off-gassing odors due to the foam in the bed’s construction.

People with respiratory issues and sleepers who are particularly sensitive to smells should make sure to unroll the mattress in a room with plenty of ventilation. However, any unpleasant odors should dissipate quickly and the company’s CertiPUR-US certification assures that any smells don’t pose a health risk.

Side Sleepers

The side sleepers on our product testing team found the Beyosa Hybrid to be a comfortable and supportive choice. Our testers noticed the foam in each model’s comfort system cushioned the hips and shoulders, helping to prevent pressure points.

Our testers weighing under 130 pounds reported that the Plush model provided them with top-notch pressure relief and the right amount of support. Sleepers in this weight group also liked the Medium model but gave the Plush model slightly higher scores overall.

Sleepers between 130 pounds and 230 pounds enjoyed the Medium mattress, as the coil structure provided increased support needed to keep the spine evenly supported. The Firm option provided the most support for side sleepers above 230 pounds, who ranked it highly due to its balance of moderate contouring and robust support.

Back Sleepers

Overall, back sleepers on our testing team favored the Medium and Firm options. The Plush model wasn’t firm enough to keep the spine in alignment for our back-sleeping testers and put pressure on their lower back. Back sleepers under 130 pounds gave the Plush model average marks, but the Medium was a better fit for them overall.

Back-sleeping testers above 130 pounds felt most supported on the Firm model. The pocketed coil support core provided the added structure they needed to keep their spine on an even plane. The foam layers in the comfort system keeps the Firm model from feeling too firm, which can be especially helpful for back sleepers with lumbar pain and those who prefer light contouring.

Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers found the Beyosa Hybrid Mattress less appealing than back and side sleepers did. While the bed featured adequate support for stomach sleepers in every weight category and didn’t cause discomfort, we found it lacked the robust support that stomach sleepers often prefer.

During testing, stomach sleepers under 130 pounds enjoyed the Plush, Medium, and Firm versions equally, while those above 130 pounds preferred the Firm model.

Beyosa Hybrid Mattress Breakdown

The Beyosa Hybrid Mattress is a customizable mattress that comes with a different set of pocketed coils depending on the firmness level you choose. It’s available in Plush, Medium, and Firm options that correspond to soft (3), medium (5), and firm (7) on our 10-point firmness scale. Sleepers can choose the same level of firmness for the whole bed or opt for different firmness levels on each side.

Beyosa’s mattresses all have the same basic construction that starts with a removable cover composed of a viscose blend material. The cover is machine-washable and helps keep sleepers cool throughout the night. The top layer of the comfort system consists of an open-cell polyfoam that is coated with a cooling gel designed to draw heat away from the sleeper. A responsive layer of foam provides an additional layer of pressure relief, and a transitional layer increases the bed’s responsiveness.

The support core is made from pocketed coils that are individually wrapped to minimize motion transfer. The coils within the support core are available in three different firmness options. When you decide which model is best for you, the team at Beyosa will build your bed accordingly using pocketed coils in the firmness level you select. Foam rails wrap around the support core to increase edge support.

The Beyosa Hybrid Mattress offers sleepers a custom fit and the ability to switch to a different level of firmess. The bed’s construction is split into two sides, so it can be ordered with two different levels of firmness for couples with different preferences.

Beyosa also makes it easy to adjust your firmness level if you decide that your initial choice wasn’t quite right. If you don’t like the option you initially chose, the company will ship you a new set of pocketed coils within the first 100 days after purchase and walk you through replacing the support core.
