TEST LAB RATINGS
How the Saatva Latex Hybrid Scored
Motion Isolation6.0/10

There is considerable motion transfer on the Saatva Latex Hybrid. The coils and latex are bouncy materials, which can cause vibrations to spread when someone moves on the mattress.
Many people can sleep through light vibrations, but this mattress isn’t the right fit for people who are easily awakened and share their bed with someone who moves around a lot in their sleep.
Mary Fenton, Head of Product Content: The downside of the springiness of this mattress is that there’s quite a bit of motion transfer. When you move, vibrations ripple out, and it may be enough to affect the sleep of a bed partner.
Pressure Relief8.5/10

The Saatva Latex Hybrid is designed to relieve pressure without closely hugging your body. Instead, the latex just lightly contours in response to your body’s weight.
For the majority of sleepers, this amount of pressure relief works to keep the spine aligned and minimize impact with the mattress surface. But it may not suit people who want plushness or deep contouring.
Colin Simpson, Product Research Manager: Pressure relief from the Saatva Latex Hybrid is solid. It doesn’t have deep contouring, but the Talalay latex has an inviting feel and does enough to cushion key pressure zones.
Temperature Control8.5/10

The Saatva Latex Hybrid excels at temperature regulation.
Latex is naturally heat-resistant, and tiny perforations in the latex let airflow whisk away any heat that does start to collect. Air can also flow freely through the coils and the layers made of breathable wool and cotton.
Jackson Lindeke, Executive Product Director: The Saatva Latex Hybrid is a great option for people who tend to sleep hot. All of the materials resist heat buildup. On this mattress, you’re more likely to need a blanket than to overheat.
Edge Support8.0/10

Our testing found reliable edge support from the Saatva Latex Hybrid. It stayed strong around the perimeter when sitting and when lying down.
You can feel the latex compress a bit around the edge, but the material quickly bounces back. The thick coils also prevent the edges from buckling.
Colin Simpson, Product Research Manager: Despite a bit of compression around the perimeter, the Saatva Latex Hybrid has quality edge support. I felt stable and secure when sleeping or sitting around the edge.
Ease of Movement8.5/10
Our team found it incredibly easy to move around on the Saatva Latex Hybrid. Talalay latex is remarkably responsive, providing bounce that helps you adjust your body’s position. The underlying coils also add a springiness that facilitates movement.
As a result, this bed is a good fit for combination sleepers and others who regularly change how their body is positioned in bed.
Mary Fenton, Head of Product Content: I frequently switch my sleeping position, and that was a breeze on this mattress. It had the right level of bounce and contouring for easy movement.
Durability9.5/10
The Saatva Latex Hybrid is made of very durable materials and should last about 10 years. Latex tends to last a lot longer than foam, and its pocketed coil support core should hold up at least as long as the latex. The only reason this isn’t a perfect score is because it’s made with Talalay latex instead of Dunlop, which is less dense. Nevertheless, this bed should stay with you for a very long time.

HANDS-ON TESTING
Testing Team Takeaways
To test the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress, we had three people on our testing team each take the bed home with them for one week. Here are their initial observations.

This mattress feels really durable and dependable, and I like that it has eco-friendly materials. As a side sleeper, I found its support to be good, but I would have preferred a bit more contouring for my hips and shoulders.

Moving around on this mattress was extremely easy, which was great for me since I am a combination sleeper. The Saatva Latex Hybrid struck a great balance of cushioning and pushback, so I felt supported regardless of my sleeping position.

Like Colin, I thought the Saatva Latex Hybrid had enough support for me as a side sleeper, but pressure relief wasn’t a standout aspect of its performance. Where this mattress really shined for me was its ability to stay cool over many hours of sleep.
Who it Fits
Fit by Sleep Position and Body Weight
Sizes, dimensions and weights
Side Sleepers
In our Test Lab, we found that the Saatva Latex Hybrid offered the most reliable and complete support to side sleepers who weigh over 130 pounds. The natural latex comfort layer provided good cushioning of the hips and shoulders and prevented sleepers from sinking deeply into the mattress.
Side sleepers under 130 pounds also liked the Saatva Latex Hybrid, but they found that it was a bit too firm to fully soften impact around their joints.
Back Sleepers
The Saatva Latex Hybrid is a strong choice for most back sleepers. Its bounce and light contouring accommodates the curvature of the lower back while also keeping the hips, midsection, and shoulders aligned.
Our testing found that it was best suited to back sleepers under 230 pounds. Some back sleepers with a higher body weight said that the Saatva Latex Hybrid was softer than ideal and allowed their abdomen to sink a bit too far into the bed.
Stomach Sleepers
The Saatva Latex Hybrid isn’t the perfect mattress for stomach sleepers, but it delivers quality support, especially to those who weigh under 230 pounds.
Stomach sleepers usually get the best results from a firm mattress that stays flat and steady even when weight is applied. The Saatva Latex Hybrid has enough pushback and bounce to avoid excessive sinkage, but in our testing, it still felt softer than many stomach sleepers preferred. That sentiment was most clearly stated by stomach sleepers over 230 pounds.
