Purple launched in 2015 and built a name for itself with its proprietary Purple Grid comfort layer in the Purple Mattress. The Purple Grid uses hyper-elastic polymer crafted in a grid pattern. The walls of the grid buckle under pressure and spring back quickly to adjust to the shape of the sleeper’s body for optimal pressure relief.
While Purple’s initial focus was mattresses, its product line has expanded to include related sleep products, like bed frames, a weighted blanket, sheets, and a duvet. Purple also produces other items that use the popular hyper-elastic polymer grid, including pet beds, sleep cushions, and pillows.
Purple Sheets are specially engineered to work with the Purple Grid. They are stretchier than conventional sheet sets to allow the hyper-elastic polymer to bend and flex as needed. But while Purple Sheets may be designed for the Purple Mattress, they also work well on other models, especially those with notable contouring.
There are currently three varieties of sheets available: Purple Sheets, Purple SoftStretch Sheets, and Purple Kid Sheets. All of these options are stretchy, but they have slight variations that may make shoppers prefer one over the others. We’ll compare and contrast their materials, pricing, sizing, color options, and care instructions to help you decide which set is best for you. We’ll also summarize key company policies that could influence your decision.
Selecting the right sheets for your bed and personal preferences isn’t always easy. Purple has three different sets to accommodate sleepers’ distinct preferences, but you’ll need to understand how these options vary to decide which is best for you. We’ll dissect the materials, pricing, color options, and more to give you a comprehensive overview of each set.
The materials and construction impact the feel, performance, and durability of a sheet set, making them two of the most important factors to consider as you shop. All of the Purple Sheet sets use similar materials, but subtle variations affect the feel.
The Purple Sheets are made of bamboo-derived viscose and spandex. Viscose makes the sheets cool and breathable, while spandex makes them a bit stretchy so that they can move with the comfort layer of your mattress for optimal pressure relief. This option might be best for shoppers on a budget who don’t want to restrict the conforming of their comfort layers.
Purple SoftStretch Sheets
The Purple SoftStretch Sheets use a blend of rayon from bamboo viscose, polyester, and spandex. This set is silky soft and smooth for a more luxurious feel, and their durable construction should stand up to repeated washings. Since they are moisture-wicking and breathable, the Purple SoftStretch Sheets provide strong temperature regulation. These sheets are the brand’s most premium option, so they might be ideal for people looking for stretch, breathability, softness, and luxury.
Purple Kid Sheets
Like the Purple SoftStretch Sheets, the Purple Kid Sheets are made of a blend of rayon from bamboo viscose, polyester, and spandex. Their performance is also similar, combining stretch, softness, breathability, coziness, and durability. The main difference is that the Purple Kid Sheets are intended for children, so their sizing and color options differ from the Purple SoftStretch Sheets.
All three sets of Purple Sheets fall well within the average price range for quality bed linens. Sets with bamboo often cost more, so Purple’s sets offer value for money when compared to the competition. Stretchy sheets are also somewhat rare, so the Purple Sheets may appeal to shoppers who have been looking for high-quality sheets with this unique characteristic.
While each sheet set comes with one or two pillowcases (depending on its size), shoppers can also purchase Purple SoftStretch Pillowcase Sets separately if they like to use extra pillows or prefer to change out their pillowcases more often.

It’s best practice to follow the care instructions that come with your sheets in order to prevent damage and preserve their lifespan. Since all three types of Purple Sheets contain similar materials, they have similar care instructions.
Purple Sheets can be machine washed in cold water and either line dried or tumble dried on the lowest heat setting. Stubborn stains can be removed using a combination of baking soda and Dawn dish soap before washing. Purple does not recommend using fabric softener since bamboo sheets are soft on their own and fabric softener could leave a residue on the spandex.
In addition to following care instructions, owners can extend the usable life of their sheets by using the gentle cycle, avoiding harsh detergents, and removing them from the dryer promptly once they’re dry.
Purple ships within the United States and Canada. Sheets can be purchased through the Purple website, Amazon, and select retail partners. Shoppers can also view Purple products in person at the company’s Utah showroom and select mattress and furniture stores.
Purple ships free within the contiguous United States. Shipping charges apply for orders to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. Purple typically ships via FedEx, and the sheets arrive neatly folded in a package.
Clean and undamaged Purple Sheets can be returned for up to 30 days. The customer is responsible for return shipping charges. This policy applies to purchases directly through Purple. Third-party retailers may have different policies.
Purple Sheets come with a 1-year limited warranty that begins on the date of purchase. If Purple determines there is a qualifying defect, it will repair or replace a piece or the whole set. The owner is responsible for transportation and inspection costs.
The policy covers the original owner who purchased their Purple Sheets through an authorized retailer. It does not cover sheets that Purple determines were abused, damaged, or neglected. It also excludes normal wear and tear from washing and use.
