Bedsure HeatX Heated Comforter Review Breakdown

The Bedsure HeatX Heated Comforter can work well for many types of sleepers seeking warmth throughout the night. It comes in twin, full, queen, and king sizes. The twin and full sizes are intended for one sleeper and come with one controller. The queen and king sizes are equipped with two heat controllers, so each side can be set to a different temperature. This feature is ideal for couples who share a bed, but don’t have the same temperature preferences.

This comforter is made with synthetic down alternative fill, which gives it a soft, fluffy feel. When sleepers don’t want extra warmth, it can be used like a regular comforter by simply keeping the heat turned off. The comforter comes in beige, black, gray, and white. It also contains eight built-in loops that make it easy to use with a duvet cover.

Materials and Construction

A soft, quilted polyester cover encases the Bedsure HeatX Heated Comforter. The interior is composed of synthetic down alternative fibers and small wires warm up when the heat is turned on.

The synthetic down alternative fill feels soft and fluffy. People with allergies may like that synthetic down alternative is hypoallergenic and much less likely than down to trap dust mites, animal proteins, and other triggers.

Pricing Information

The Bedsure HeatX Heated Comforter falls in the average to above-average price range for heated comforters. Generally, heated comforters are more expensive than heated blankets because they are larger and contain more fill. All colorways for the HeatX are priced the same, but larger sizes cost more than smaller sizes.

The queen and king sized options have dual controllers. These allow individuals to choose a heat setting for just one side of the bed, or leave the heat turned off, if their temperature preferences don’t match with their bed partner’s.

SizeDimensionsPrice

King90″ x 104″$156

Comforter Performance Ratings

Our testing team rated the HeatX Heated Comforter positively across performance categories that are most important to sleepers. Testers who slept with the comforter reported that it feels soft, warm, and comfortable.

The heat controllers are intuitive and easy to navigate. A preheat option ensures your sleep surface is at your desired temperature before you go to bed, and timers help ensure you don’t wake up feeling too hot later on. There are 10 heat levels and 10 timer options, giving you plenty of settings to experiment with until you find your perfect combination.

While the comforter is ideal for colder weather thanks to the heat options, it can also be comfortable during the warmer months. Sleepers always have the option of not turning the heat function on and using it like a regular comforter. If you know you likely won’t use the heat function for an extended period, you can simply remove the power plug and heat controllers from the comforter and store them away until you plan on using them again.

The HeatX Heated Comforter features loops that make securing it inside a duvet cover easy. Choosing this option may extend the comforter’s lifespan by protecting it from everyday wear and tear.

Quality of Fill

3.5 / 5

The fill consists of synthetic down alternative fibers spread across baffle-quilted boxes that distribute the fill and prevent bunching. Synthetic fill mimics the soft feel of down without triggering allergies, and is more affordable and easier to wash and dry.

Quality of Shell

3.5 / 5

The Bedsure HeatX Heated Comforter is covered in a quilted polyester fabric designed to feel soft to the touch. It is machine washable. The shell is designed to be used on its own, and it also contains eight built-in loops, so it can be used in a duvet cover.

Softness

4 / 5

Sleepers tend to experience the HeatX Heater Comforter as feeling particularly soft and comfortable. Many find the synthetic fill genuinely feels as fluffy as real down.

Temperature Control

4.5 / 5

Built-in dual heat controls allow sleepers to preheat the comforter, keep it heated for up to 10 hours, and you can choose from 10 different heating levels. Controls differ on each side of the comforter, so partners who share a bed don’t need to choose the same temperature settings.

Durability

3.5 / 5

Although synthetic fill doesn’t last as long as real down, it can still retain its shape and softness for several years. We expect the HeatX Heated Comforter to last as long as similar synthetic comforters.

Care and Cleaning

Before machine-washing the HeatX Heated Comforter, unplug the power cord from the outlet, then disconnect the coupler mechanism that connects the power cord to the comforter’s heating mechanism. Set these components and the attached controller aside, away from water, and let the comforter cool for about half an hour.

To wash the comforter, select a gentle cycle and use mild detergent and cold water. You may also first soak the comforter in mild soap and water for 15 minutes. To air dry, hang the comforter over two clothing lines without using clothes pins. You can also machine-dry the comforter. Set the tumble setting to low, remove while it’s still damp, and hang it on a clothing line or shower bar until completely dry.

When drying the HeatX Comforter, do not wring it out or use a commercial dryer — these may cause permanent damage. Make sure both the blanket and coupler are dry before plugging the comforter back in.
