NATIONAL SLEEP FOUNDATION — Drowsy driving awareness and prevention have been central to NSF’s advocacy agenda since 1990. Read the NSF multidisciplinary expert consensus statement on drowsy driving published in the June 2016 issue of Sleep Health.

Just as with drunk, drugged and distracted driving, drowsy driving is preventable. Find out how you can help prevent drowsy driving during Drowsy Driving Prevention Week.


To address the dangers of drowsy driving, NSF urges members of Congress to provide $200 million of annual funding for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to establish a dedicated, high-visibility education and awareness program to help prevent drowsy driving among non-commercial drivers.
