Nectar Sleep is an online mattress company that specializes in memory foam models. The company quickly gained recognition with its flagship mattress, the Nectar, and subsequently with the Nectar Lush, which has since been replaced by the Nectar Premier, a plusher mattress optimized for side sleepers. Released in 2021, the Nectar Premier Copper boasts a taller profile with deeper contouring and advanced temperature regulation.
The mattress cover is made with a polyester and nylon blend, infused with copper fibers that are intended to provide a cooler sleep surface. In the comfort section, a layer of gel-infused memory foam with phase change material conforms to the sleeper’s body for deep pressure relief. This is followed by a transitional polyfoam layer and a 9-inch polyfoam support core.
The Nectar Premier Copper mattress is medium firm, with a feel designed to appeal to a wide variety of sleepers. Like all Nectar models, this mattress comes with a 365-night sleep trial and a lifetime warranty.
Sleepers who are willing to pay a little more for a premium product may find this mattress fits the bill. We’ll review the Nectar Premier Copper’s construction, sleeper ratings, and company policies to help you decide if it’s right for you.

Nectar Premier Copper Video Review
Watch the video below to see how the Nectar Premier Copper performed when put to the test in the Sleep Foundation Lab.
The Nectar Premier Copper Mattress does an excellent job of absorbing motion to prevent it from transferring to different sections of the mattress. This is primarily due to the thick layer of memory foam, which contours to the body and isolates any movement to the immediate area.
All-foam mattresses tend to perform well on motion isolation, but this model is a particularly strong option for couples who need a mattress that allows them to shift positions without waking each other up.
With 4 inches of memory foam, plus a transitional layer and a substantial support layer, the Nectar Premier Copper delivers top-notch pressure relief.
The memory foam cradles the body to relieve pressure in sensitive areas, while the denser polyfoam base provides the necessary support to keep the spine aligned. These attributes make the mattress especially suitable for side sleepers, who often experience pressure buildup where the hips and shoulders come into contact with the mattress.
When it comes to maintaining a neutral temperature, the Nectar Copper Mattress performs better than most other memory foam mattresses.
Memory foam is notorious for retaining heat, and all-foam mattresses have little room for airflow due to their solid construction. This means memory foam mattresses are often poor at maintaining a cool temperature through the night.
By contrast, this mattress has a copper-infused cover designed to feel cool to the touch. To further combat heat retention, Nectar has also infused the memory foam with gel and phase change material. These materials are engineered to absorb the extra heat retained near a person’s body and dissipate it through the rest of the mattress to help keep the sleep surface cool
The Nectar Premier Copper Mattress offers little edge support. This may be a problem for those who sleep near the edge of the mattress, or who have trouble getting in and out of bed.
Foam mattresses in general are not known for their edge support, as they don’t tend to have any materials reinforcing the perimeter. With its medium firm feel and all-foam construction, the Nectar Premier Copper may compress too much when pressure is put on the edges. This can cause feelings of instability, especially for sleepers over 130 pounds.
Ease of Movement
Compared to other memory foam mattresses, the Nectar Premier Copper offers decent ease of movement.
Foam mattresses often excel at contouring to the shape of the body, but some sleepers find this trait restrictive when switching positions. Due to its medium firm feel, the Nectar Premier Copper prevents sleepers from sinking in too far.
Although it doesn’t have the bounce of a latex or hybrid mattress, this model is a decent option for sleepers who prefer an all-foam mattress but who don’t like feeling stuck in the bed.
The Nectar Premier Copper Mattress is not very conducive to sex. With limited bounce and fair edge support, the mattress restricts the usable surface area and makes it somewhat difficult to move around on top of the bed.
That being said, different couples have different needs and preferences. Some may appreciate the mattress’ virtually silent all-foam construction, as well as the traction provided by the memory foam.
Some customers might notice a “new mattress smell” when the Nectar Premier Copper first arrives. All-foam mattresses are known to give off an unpleasant odor when they are unboxed. The aroma is caused by volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that result from the manufacturing process.
VOCs are not considered harmful, and the smell typically disappears after a couple of days in a well-ventilated room.
Nectar mattresses meet CertiPUR-US standards for low emissions.

The Nectar Premier Copper stands out as an excellent mattress for side sleepers, particularly those who weigh more than 130 pounds.
Side sleepers require a mattress that’s soft enough to alleviate pressure points in the shoulders and hips. The medium firm Nectar Premier Copper contours to the curves of the body, reducing pressure buildup and helping to keep the spine aligned.
The comfort section is thicker than in most competing mattresses, meaning sleepers over 130 pounds have plenty of room to sink into the mattress without coming into direct contact with the firmer support layers. The mattress also provides adequate spinal support for sleepers under 130 pounds, although these individuals may find the mattress a tad on the firm side.
Back Sleepers: Back sleepers typically require a medium firm surface to encourage healthy spinal alignment without causing pressure points. Those who weigh less than 230 pounds should sleep comfortably on the Nectar Premier Copper Mattress. The moderate contouring provides strong lumbar support to prevent unnatural curves in the spine.
The Nectar Premier Copper does not deliver the same level of support to back sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds. These sleepers are better served by a firmer mattress that can help maintain the natural curvature of their lower back without excessive sinking.
Stomach Sleepers: The Nectar Premier Copper Mattress is not optimal for stomach sleepers, although those who weigh less than 130 pounds may be able to spend part of the night in this position.
For stomach sleepers, a firmer mattress helps keep the spine on an even plane. Mattresses that are too plush allow the lower back to sink into a U-shape, which can lead to back and neck pain.
The Nectar Premier Copper Mattress is firm enough for stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds. These sleepers exert less pressure on the mattress, and receive adequate spinal support. The mattress may be too plush for stomach sleepers who weigh more than 130 pounds. These sleepers sink further into the mattress and may experience poor spinal alignment.
Nectar Premier Copper Mattress Review Breakdown
The all-foam Nectar Premier Copper has a 14-inch profile with three layers in total. The mattress owes its name to the cover, a soft poly-blend infused with copper fibers.
A 4-inch memory foam layer infused with gel and phase change material makes up the bulk of the comfort system. These materials are designed to draw heat away from the sleeper in order to maintain a neutral temperature. Beneath this is a 1-inch layer of polyfoam that acts as a transition to the support core.
The support core consists of 9 inches of polyfoam, which is thicker than most competing mattresses. This layer supplies extra support to keep the spine aligned, and helps increase the durability of the mattress.
The Nectar Premier Copper Mattress is medium firm, with a rating of 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. This makes it soft enough to cushion potential pressure points, yet firm enough to prevent the body from sinking unevenly and disrupting spinal alignment.
