Biography

Mary Ladd is an author and journalist whose work explores health, chronic illness, culture, and other topics. She began her professional writing career at the San Francisco Chronicle, and her work has appeared in Health, KQED, Playboy, and several anthologies.

Mary is the author of The Wig Diaries: An Irreverent Cancer Book and the founding editor of The Long COVID Reader, an anthology featuring writing from 45 people affected by long COVID. She brings her experience in journalism and patient-centered health storytelling to her work for Sleep Foundation.
