RSS Feeds

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Rich Site Summary , but some people prefer to think of it as Really Simple Syndication . Why? RSS is a format for delivering regularly updated Web content, such as the National Sleep Foundation's Alert. Online publishers provide an RSS feed to readers so content can be syndicated on multiple blogs and Web sites across the Internet.

How Does it Work?

The National Sleep Foundation provides RSS feeds, which you can use in your RSS feed reader or news aggregator. You can use either a desktop RSS reader or a web-based reader, like My Yahoo or Google Reader. Whenever the National Sleep Foundation updates a feed, the information is sent to your reader.
