Nectar established its online reputation with its flagship bed in a box mattress, which included a generous 365-night sleep trial and forever warranty. The company has since grown in popularity and expanded its product line to include bedding, bed frames, and furniture. The latest addition to the Nectar line is the Nectar Lush mattress, a luxury memory foam mattress.
The Nectar Lush, which we cover in this review, has a 12-inch profile with three foam layers, including a comfort layer of gel-infused memory foam. The mattress offers deep contouring for pressure relief. It isolates motion exceptionally well and helps prevent sleep disturbances for those who share the bed. It also regulates temperature better than the average memory foam mattress. The machine washable cover, premium foam layers, and higher price point set it apart from Nectar’s flagship mattress.
We’ll take a closer look at the construction and performance of the Nectar Lush, including how it is rated in key categories like motion isolation, pressure relief, and temperature regulation. Based on extensive product testing, we’ll also break down how well-suited the Lush is for different body types and sleeping positions. We’ll then review the company’s policies, including its 365-night sleep trial and lifetime warranty.
The Nectar Lush is a foam mattress with a higher-than-average profile. The 12-inch construction includes a thick comfort layer of memory foam, a transition layer of polyfoam, and a high-density support core.
The mattress is available in one firmness option, which falls at a 5 out of 10 on the firmness scale. This medium firmness benefits side and back sleepers who weigh less than 230 pounds. The plush memory foam comfort layer lets sleepers sink into the mattress, with a body-hugging feel that cushions pressure points. This cradling effect reduces tension throughout the body. The Nectar Lush is ideal for those who want a closely conforming mattress.
While the flagship Nectar Sleep mattress includes memory foam in its quilted cover, the Lush mattress has a Tencel cover that is easier to keep clean. The cover is removable and machine washable. It helps wick away heat and moisture for a cooling feel.
The comfort layer of the Lush is three inches of gel-coated memory foam. This breathable layer helps regulate temperature to improve overall sleep quality. The memory foam is zoned. The Aquacool center helps draw heat away and keeps it from building up in the mattress. This layer also conforms to the shape of the body, giving the feeling of sleeping in the mattress rather than on top of it.
The transition layer of the Nectar Lush is two inches of Energex foam. This layer keeps sleepers from sinking into the support base. It improves ease of movement and prevents the feeling of being restricted by the softer memory foam comfort layer.
The support core is seven inches of high-density polyfoam. The polyfoam core offers even and consistent support and helps prevent sagging over time. This base is stable and durable, so it provides better edge support than the average foam mattress. The all-foam construction of the Nectar Lush helps to further isolate motion.
The Nectar Lush is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning its foams are made without the use of harmful chemicals or heavy metals. It is also low in volatile organic compounds, meaning it should have less of a synthetic “new mattress” smell.
The Nectar Lush has a three-layer foam construction, which includes gel-infused memory foam, a transition layer of polyfoam, and a polyfoam support core.

The Nectar Lush is Nectar’s luxury memory foam mattress, and it has a price point to match. It is more expensive than the flagship Nectar mattress. While it is not as expensive as some luxury mattresses, it does come at a higher price than the average foam mattress. Nectar offers occasional promotions that discount the mattress.
Though the Nectar Lush is more expensive, it is made with higher-density foams which give it a longer lifespan. The durability of the mattress helps prevent sagging over time. The bed’s lifetime warranty adds some value and security to the investment.
The Nectar Lush is available in standard sizes twin through California king. Most foam mattresses are 10 inches in height, so the 12-inch profile of the Nectar Lush is higher than average, though standard sheets should still fit. The Nectar Lush is also heavier than the company’s flagship model, and it may be difficult to move without assistance.

Side Sleepers: Side sleepers need cushioning for their shoulders and hips, as these areas push into the mattress. If the mattress is too firm, pressure points can develop. If the mattress is too soft, then the body will not be properly supported. The Nectar Lush has a medium firmness that balances comfort and support for most side sleepers. It responds proportionately to pressure and evenly distributes body weight.
For side sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds, the Nectar Lush is a standout choice. It offers excellent pressure relief and cushions the shoulders and hips. The memory foam comfort layer is soft enough for sleepers to experience full-body contouring. The transition layer helps keep the spine aligned.
Those who sleep on their sides and weigh between 130 and 230 pounds will also find the Nectar Lush to be comfortable and supportive. The memory foam comfort layer relieves pressure points, while the transition layer and support core help keep the spine aligned.
Side sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds will likely find that the Lush mattress is too soft. While the memory foam relieves pressure in the shoulders and hips, sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds are more likely to sink in excessively and feel the dense support core.
Back Sleepers: Back sleepers require consistent support to keep their spines aligned and maintain a neutral posture as they sleep. A conforming mattress like the Nectar Lush fills any gap underneath the lumbar region and reduces pressure on the lower back.
The medium firmness and deep contouring of the Nectar Lush are most beneficial for back sleepers who weigh less than 230 pounds. For these sleepers, the Nectar Lush balances comfort and support. Memory foam relieves pressure with a cradling effect, while the transition layer prevents sinking in too deeply.
The Nectar Lush offers fair support for back sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds. The thick profile of the mattress helps keep them from sinking in excessively. That said, most back sleepers in this weight category will probably prefer a firmer mattress for additional support.
Stomach Sleepers: A firm surface is ideal for stomach sleepers, as it helps keep the hips and abdomen from sinking into the mattress. That said, a contouring mattress like the Nectar Lush can provide comfort for the upper body.
Stomach sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds benefit most from the Nectar Lush mattress. The conforming memory foam cushions the chest and shoulders. Sleepers who weigh less than 130 pounds are also less likely to sink too far into the mattress. This ensures proper support for the hips and abdomen and helps keep the spine properly aligned.
Those who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds will find the Nectar Lush offers fair support. The contouring comfort layer cradles the upper body, but there is a risk of the hips and abdomen pressing in too deeply. This can put a strain on the lower back.
Stomach sleepers who weigh more than 230 pounds are more likely to carry extra weight in their midsections. The Nectar Lush is rated poorly by these sleepers, who find the mattress is too soft to offer adequate support.
Under 130 lbs. | 130-230 lbs. | Above 230 lbs. | |
---|---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | Excellent | Good | Fair |
Back Sleepers | Excellent | Good | Fair |
Stomach Sleepers | Good | Fair | Poor |
