The SleepImage System is easy for clinicians to use from anywhere with an Internet connection, using a desktop, laptop or tablet to log in to the secure clinical portal. The data uploaded automatically from patients at the end of their sleep test is automatically analyzed and a report created for review, interpretation, and diagnosis (as appropriate). Manual scoring is available to adhere to guidelines and clinical notes can be written into the report. Patient data can also be shared with other clinicians as needed for multi-disciplinary care.

SleepImage Goes Beyond Sleep Apnea Diagnosis

SleepImage Goes Beyond Sleep Apnea Diagnosis

Sleep & the Autonomic Nervous System

SleepImage has an FDA-cleared Apnea Hypopnea Index (AHI) that is comparable to an AHI from polysomnography (PSG) from a single point of contact.
SleepImage is however much more than that; it is a clinical tool that analyzes the state of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) during sleep which has a bi-directional relationship with sleep/wake control. The ANS is fundamental to maintain homeostasis of the body, achieved among other things through coordination of heart rate variability and respiration, which are the two fundamental components of Cardiopulmonary Coupling (CPC), the proprietary technique behind SleepImage.
SleepImage is a diagnostic & management tool that tracks sleep quality and sleep apnea. Clinical research has shown that this combined method helps manage blood pressure and other cardiovascular and cardiometabolic markers in addition to treating sleep apnea as measured with the AHI.
The ANS not only controls the bi-directional relationship with sleep/wake control, as it furthermore identifies the bimodality of NREM sleep as Stable and Unstable sleep based on the coupling of heart rate variability and breathing rate variability. SleepImage makes it easy to evaluate the health-promoting aspects of sleep to help doctors take a comprehensive view towards sleep care for their patients.

Sleep Apnea & Sleep Medicine

In addition to clinical diagnosis of obstructive and central sleep apnea, SleepImage is also cleared to evaluate other sleep disorders providing valuable clinical information for clinical evaluation of insomnia and potentially other sleep and movement disorders as autonomic dysfunction and sleep architecture affect each other.
Examples are insomnia which causes increased sympathetic activation and fragments sleep, which is a known risk factor for cardiovascular stress and compromised blood pressure control, independent of the presence of sleep apnea. Another example is periodicity, which is a high-risk indicator of adverse cardiovascular outcomes.
The SleepImage output puts sleep back into sleep medicine to expand patient care beyond the AHI. For further information, please click on the following link to learn more about SleepImage and Cardiopulmonary Coupling (CPC) technique.
Guided by Deep Understanding of Sleep Science to Help People Sleep Better.
SleepImage is rooted in medical science, and it is more than a sleep apnea test. SleepImage is a measure of Autonomic Nervous System health during sleep, which fundamentally determines the state of health where sleep plays a vital role, and it is the only thing that we humans are designed to spend a third of our lives doing. The quality of that one third of life directly impacts your overall health, happiness, quality of life and even life expectancy. But you don’t need to take our word for it. The SleepImage Mobile App

The SleepImage Mobile App makes it easy for patients to have their sleep tested. After receiving instructions from their healthcare professional, they will receive an email from SleepImage that contains their random and unique Patient ID and links to the App stores to download the SleepImage Mobile App to their iOS or Android mobile device.
After installing the SleepImage App on their mobile device, the Patient must follow these 3 steps before being able to start testing:
  1. Sign In with the Patient ID and Date of Birth.
  2. Put on the finger-worn device to pair it with the mobile device over Bluetooth.
  3. Wear the device during sleep. Start and Stop the test in the App.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

An Home Sleep Test (HST) is an overnight test of your sleep conducted in the comfort of your own bed. Home Sleep Test (HST) means that your home sleep test is actually measuring your sleep and sleep apnea, in contrast to most sleep tests on the market for use at home, commonly known as Home Sleep Apnea Tests or HSAT which do not measure sleep itself, reducing the value of the test to evaluate only sleep apnea based on oxygen saturation and some form of respiratory metrics. Fixing sleep apnea does not mean that sleep itself has been fixed. Don’t compromise on your sleep test, ask your physician whether your sleep test will include a measure of sleep itself. Ask for a SleepImage test.
A home sleep test is commonly ordered by your physician or other licensed healthcare provider based on your symptoms, complaints or your medical conditions that are known to be associated with undiagnosed and/or untreated sleep apnea.
Ask your healthcare provider for the SleepImage Home Sleep Test.

The SleepImage Home Sleep Test goes beyond diagnosing obstructive sleep apnea. It is FDA-cleared to have output that is comparable to a sleep study in a sleep center, using polysomnography (PSG) to diagnose sleep disordered breathing and it is a measure of health during sleep, including a reflection of your underlying conditions that are known to affect sleep and be affected by poor sleep or the presence of sleep apnea, such as hypertension. With SleepImage your output will include:

  • Sleep Quality, reflecting Health Outcomes such as Cardiovascular Health.
  • Sleep Duration, including Total Sleep Time and Wake After Sleep Onset.
  • Sleep Apnea, including Obstructive and Central Sleep Apnea.
  • Health biomarkers, including Sleep Fragmentation and Periodicity during Sleep.
The SleepImage System is a prescription medical device. Ask your doctor about getting your sleep tested, using SleepImage. Once you have completed your sleep test, the data is uploaded via your smart phone or tablet to your doctor’s secure cloud-based portal for evaluation, interpretation and diagnosis when appropriate. You will get the results from your sleep study from your doctor with recommendations and possibly with a prescription to a sleep disorder treatment.
If you have received a SleepImage device to collect data during sleep from your healthcare provider, you can continue testing your sleep as instructed. Many clinicians want their patients to have their own SleepImage device to test their sleep regularly. If you have purchased a SleepImage device, you will pay your clinician for use of the device and you will receive your study output from your clinician.

SleepImage Does Not Disrupt Your Sleep

The SleepImage test includes only one point of contact on your finger which will not disrupt your ability to enjoy a normal sleep in your own bed, yet it is a sleep test cleared by the FDA to provide you with comparable output for sleep apnea diagnosis as you would get from a sleep test using polysomnography (PSG) in a sleep lab.
