Sleep Tech Intern

The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) is looking for a Sleep Technology intern. This intern will work closely with NSF's Sleep Technology and Education coordinator, who is responsible for advancing NSFs goal to ensure that sleep science is rapidly incorporated into products and services, seeking opportunities to expand NSF's role in furthering sleep health innovation, cultivating champions and building relationships with innovators and other stakeholders, and developing and delivering educational programs and content.  

The Sleep Technology intern will help to execute the Sleep Technology Council's programs, including an annual event to promote the consumer sleep technology category. The intern will also aid in exploring the newest innovations in sleep technology as well as the business and investment opportunities in this growing sector. Additionally, the intern will gain valuable professional writing experience as he or she helps the coordinator to produce memos, talking points, briefings, notes, and presentations for internal and external audiences as needed.  


Qualified applicants must possess the following:  


  • Strong written and oral communication skills  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • A keen interest in health and tech innovation
  • A motivated and entrepreneurial spirit  
  • An interest in independent research and immersing him/herself in a particular topic of interest  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to complete tasks  
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Approachability and willingness to learn  



Internships are unpaid, but college credit is available. Perks include a transportation stipend or parking reimbursement, fruit and granola office service and a collaborative environment. Hours can be flexible but students must commit to a set schedule. Typical interns work between 16 and 37.5 hours a week at our office in Arlington, VA, located on the orange/silver lines of the metro. Applications are accepted for the fall, spring and summer semesters on a rolling basis.
