Seven Days of Sleep and Alertness

About the Great American Sleep ChallengeTM

The National Sleep Foundation’s Great American Sleep Challenge™ is an online educational campaign designed to teach Americans how to improve their sleep and alertness. The Sleep Challenge takes place every year during National Sleep Awareness Week® (NSAW), which is a public education, information, and awareness campaign. The annual launch of NSAW coincides with the return of Daylight Saving Time, the "springing forward" of clocks that can cause Americans to lose an hour of sleep.

NSF's 2008 Great American Sleep Challenge took place March 3-31. Thank you to all who participated! Check back soon for updates about our 2009 campaign.
