National Sleep Awareness Week® (NSAW) 2008 is fast approaching and NSF already has a full calendar of NSAW-related events and activities planned for the coming year.

Here is a quick glimpse of NSAW 2008:


 

  • NSF's 8th Annual Awards Dinner: A Celebration of Sleep Leadership - the 2008 awards dinner will be held on March 3, 2008, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. Learn more about the annual awards dinner now, including how to purchase tickets.

  • NSF's Great American Sleep Challenge - NSF's Great American Sleep Challenge is a fun, interactive online campaign designed to improve Americans' sleep. The new-and-improved Sleep Challenge will offer something for everyone! The 2008 Sleep Challenge will begin on March 3, 2008.

  • NSF's 2008 Sleep in America poll will focus on how sleep impacts work performance and how working long hours may interfere with sleep. Poll results will be released March 4, 2008, but Community Sleep Awareness Partners will have early access to poll findings and analyses.

  • The Role of Sleep in Memory and Learning, NSF's scientific conference to be held March 3-4, 2008, will bring together leading experts from diverse backgrounds to discuss the role of sleep in learning and memory consolidation.   • NSF's Advocacy Training and Capitol Hill Day will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. Sleep Advocates will receive a briefing on current issues as well as training on how to conduct meetings with legislators.   • NSF's 2008 Healthy Sleep Community Award. The NSF Healthy Sleep Community Award recognizes outstanding efforts by a town, city, district, state, or other community organization to initiate or continue a sleep activity or program with effective, long-lasting results on a significant proportion of a population. Get more information here.
