To gain full benefit of the Sleep Care Center Membership Program, it is recommended that each facility purchase a separate membership. Yes, NSF offers group discounts for facilities that register seven or more locations. For more information, please contact Cheryl Welbeck at cwelbeck@sleepfoundation.org.
- How do I know my facility’s membership has been processed?
You will receive a confirmation email which contains your facility’s username and password and links to the Web directory, Update Your Profile form and the Sleep Shop. - Why is an email address required for membership processing?
Email is NSF’s primary channel of communication with Sleep Care Center members. Please make sure that the email address on file for your facility is current so that you don’t miss out on important information about benefits or new NSF initiatives. - Does my facility need to be accredited?
No, accreditation is not a requirement for eligibility in the Sleep Care Center Membership Program. - What do I do with the username and password I’ve received?
Please keep a copy of the confirmation message you receive as it contains your facility’s username and password. You will need this information to update your Web directory listing and access the Online Membership Center. - What do I do if I’ve lost or misplaced my facility’s username and password?
For log-in information, please visit http://www.sleepfoundation.org/user/password.
- When will my facility’s listing appear in the NSF online Web directory?
Once you have received a confirmation message by email indicating that your membership has been processed, you will be able to see your facility’s Web directory listing. Don’t forget to check your listing for accuracy and update or add any necessary information. - How will my facility benefit from being listed on the NSF online Web directory?
NSF’s Web site, www.sleepfoundation.org, is the number one destination for information about sleep. We experience increased traffic to our Web site during our largest initiatives, National Sleep Awareness Week® (NSAW) and Drowsy Driving Prevention Week® which coincide with the start and end of Day Light Saving Time. The media impressions produced from National Sleep Awareness Week and other initiatives mean more opportunities for your center or practice to benefit from increased awareness about the importance of sleep. Being listed in the Web directory is a great way to help potential patients locate your facility for sleep care services.
- How do I update my facilities Web directory listing?
You may update your Web directory listing by clicking on "My Sleep Centers" then "Edit." Use the field called “Company Profile” to add any additional detail you want to share with potential patients. Please note that this field accepts HTML code so that you can add additional links to your listing. - How do I add a logo or photo to my facility’s Web directory listing?
Login, click on "My Sleep Centers" and then "Edit." Next, use the "Image" field to add one or more images.
- What are NSF’s major public awareness campaigns and initiatives, and how can my center play a role?
NSF’s largest initiatives are National Sleep Awareness Week® and Drowsy Driving Prevention Week® which coincide with the start and end of Daylight Saving Time. Because these and other awareness initiatives generate extensive international, national and local media coverage, they provide the perfect opportunities to expand your facility’s marketing and community relations programs. By planning activities in conjunction with these and other national NSF awareness and educational programs, your sleep center or practice will be positioned to serve as the local expert for media and other inquiries related to sleep and sleep awareness. - What’s in the Online Membership Center?
The Online Membership Center provides a range of resources designed to help your center or practice educate your patients about the various sleep disorders and conduct a media campaign and awareness for the importance of sleep in your community. The Online Membership Center contains a media handbook, PowerPoint presentations, Sleep in America® poll results, logos, sleep diaries, mini posters and much more. - How do I get access to the Online Membership Center?
Login to the NSF website to obtain access. For problems logging into the Membership Center, please contact Scott Ravin at 202-347-3471 ext. 201 or sravin@sleepfoundation.org. - How do I get my 20% discount on the purchase of educational materials in the Sleep Shop?
Log in and visit the Sleep Shop online. At the checkout screen, use your member discount code. If you have questions related to your purchase, please contact Maria Butler at 202-347-3471 ext. 214 or mbutler@sleepfoundation.org. - What are online communities?
The National Sleep Foundation is registered on several popular social networking Web sites such as Facebook, Gather, LinkedIn, Twitter and MySpace. Additionally, NSF has an online forum called PillowTalk®. All of these online communities will allow your facility and staff to communicate directly with potential patients, colleagues, peers and others in the field of sleep. Join the conversation today!
