National Sleep Foundation Announces Launch of New and Improved Website
New Site Offers Improved Functions, Sharper Appearance
WASHINGTON, DC, December 9, 2008 – The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) today launched the redesign of its website, www.sleepfoundation.org, to provide visitors, members and partner organizations with even more relevant and easy-to-find information on sleep.
“Our website has always been an important tool for us to share accurate information on the benefits of healthy sleep and sleep disorders,” said NSF CEO David Cloud. “The redesigned site’s new look and improved functions will ensure an engaging educational experience for our users, and it be even easier to find trusted, reliable information on sleep health.”
The revamped site features an updated look with enhanced features, including all-new appearance and layout with eye-catching graphics and user-friendly navigation bars. Users will be able to use drop-down menus on the homepage to shortcut to topic and disease-specific pages. Users will still have the search function available on the top of every page as an additional tool for locating resources.
Site visitors looking to find a sleep care center nationally or abroad can click the ‘Find a Sleep Center’ button to get in touch with a sleep center near them. For press materials, users will have an upgraded press center that includes access to NSF releases and a variety of other resources specifically intended for members of the media such as reports, polls and customized information.
The new site contains all of the information on sleep disorders that users looked to the old site to provide, with a greater focus on the overall benefits of healthy sleep. This broader focus helps highlight all aspects of sleep medicine including sleep and women, sleep and children, and sleep and workplace issues and not just sleep problems.
The new website also includes:
- Highlighted findings of our Sleep in America™ poll;
- Expanded, more comprehensive media resource;
- Improved overall usability;
- Clean and focused presentations on a variety of sleep health topics;
- Numerous resources for reporters, consumers, providers, partners and students.
